This overview is appropriate for all members of the educational team interested in an introduction to the elements and philosophy of the Pyramid Approach to Education.

This is an overview of how to set up an effective teaching environment for students with autism and/or related developmental disabilities. The Pyramid consultant will begin by briefly discussing the base of the Pyramid Approach to Education including functional activities, reinforcement systems, communication/social skills, and contextually inappropriate behaviors and alternatives. A description of the top elements of the Pyramid including generalization, creating effective lessons, specific teaching strategies, minimizing and correcting errors, and data collection and analysis will follow.
